I Like to Move It!

I’m completely failing at this “avoid Paleo foods” thing.  I’m doing fabulous at avoiding grains but dairy seems to be a whole different story.  Yesterday, my friend Ida was in town and wanted to take me to Cold Stone for my birthday since she had missed me last week.  Who am I to argue?

Last time I was there, I had gotten the dark chocolate frozen yogurt and it was fabulous!  Lower in calories at 180 for a “Like It” (let’s not talk about my mix ins though).  But… I’m not supposed to be having dairy!  Normally the only dairy I have is in my coffee but its been an onslaught lately!  ::sips coffee with creamer::

In other news, I was feeling rather fit and thin this morning so I snapped a picture.  I feel sporty and athletic in it!  This was before my run.  I went to the park to meet up with the new runner friend and somehow we missed each other.  I texted her and haven’t heard anything.  Weird.  I decided after 20 minutes that I would head out for my run on my own.  It was SO HOT.  I ran through the park, which was only a half mile, and then took the first turn to loop back around through town.  Ended up doing about 1.5 miles.  I just couldn’t take the heat.  On the bright side, this was the first time I had been to this park and its really pretty!  It’s small but it’s near downtown which has lots of beautiful buildings so I can enjoy the nature and then the architecture.  This might be my new running spot!

Did you noticed my photos are a little long?  That’s because the camera on my phone works again!  Yay!  It hasn’t worked in almost a year.  You have no idea how excited this makes me.  Corrupted files were causing problems but I fixed it!

Anyway, plan for tonight is to use my free pass at the YMCA.  Alissa is joining me.  She is going to swim while I check out Zumba.  Then its time for Body Pump.  THEN she wants to go to the Yoga class.  I’ll be at the gym for 3 hours tonight!  That’s means 4 workouts today!!  Have to use that free pass to the max :)  I can’t wait for yoga though.  Ida (picture above) also got me a new yoga mat with a carrying strap for my birthday, and my legs have been twitchy from running.  Need to really stretch them out!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

PS.  Posted a book review earlier for Paleoista.  Check it out!

  1. This all sounds like a lot of fun! It’s GREAT when we give ourselves credit for doing great things. I’m with you: if I got a free pass to something, I’d want to use everything I could 🙂

I started a (very bad) period yesterday. I did okay til nighttime (ruhroh), then had SIX (they are tiny for bread) slices of gluten-free udi’s bread with Earth Balance. OMG. SIX??? Yeah, cos 3 wasn’t enough. I did one of those “throws up hands in defeat.” I really, really, really WANTED bread and butter (ish).

So far, I haven’t had the negative side effects but I bet they’ll come. While I can get away with a little non-gluten grains, an overage usually means being bound up (painfully bloated colon, spasms due to that and finally…) here we go, Ang: lots of GRAINY poo that comes out little at a time over a few days. It like turns to concrete in there, then has to slowly break up. If you really think (*I*) about it, you wouldn’t do it anymore. But I can’t seem to go off it for good 🙁

Dairy is easy for me to give up (while I usually have some once a month, I’d be just as happy eating coconut milk, soy (since I already do soy) or almond milk stuff. Heck, coconut milk tastes BETTER than any dairy! (well, to me)

  2. 4 workouts inone day!!! holy moly- I am SOOO impressed you go girl!!!!
and do you run in a sports bra? I dont think I have the guts for that!
