Friday Wrapup

I’m in a strange mood this morning!  Things are just cracking me up!  Could be that I was just sitting here flipping through my friend Esther’s Pinterest Funny Stuffs Board.  I don’t know why (probably the mental image), but this one had me laughing out loud:

Ah man, I’m done with that now. My abs hurt too much for laughing! From all that P90X!!! YEAH!  My workouts have been both good and bad this week.  I managed to do all of my strength training but no cardio at all.  That is completely opposite to my usual (all cardio, barely any ST).  Now, if I can just get the two to work together!  Next week…

My eating has been atrocious this week too.  Especially yesterday!  I had Wendy’s!  And a candy bar!!!  What was with me?  Rob and I were discussing that downward spiral you can get into where you eat crappy, so you feel crappy, so you don’t workout, which makes you feel crappy, and then you want to eat crappy because your brain tells you it will make you feel better when you really know its just going to make you feel more crappy.  Amazing right?  I’ve been there, it happens to me.  The trick is to do something to pull yourself out of that spiral.  I got up and did P90X this morning.  Spiral broken!

On a side note, I did a much better job with my egg muffins this week and posted the recipe for Zucchini Egg Muffins on Spark Recipes.  I also used my new fabulous pan I got at TJ MAxx.  It is ceramic coated (all my pans at home are ceramic coated because they are AMAZING, nothing sticks!! NOTHING!), and every muffin came out perfect!

I didn’t even grease the pan or anything!  They popped right out!  These were a little bland and would have been so much better had I remembered the chopped bacon I was going to add!  Next time I guess.  Next week, I am thinking about trying to make protein pancake type muffins, more on the sweet side with blueberries perhaps.  I don’t have a recipe so I could do really well or completely bomb it.  We’ll see!

That is all for today!  I had some interesting blogs planned for this week but I have been feeling really bad lately.  More often than I should.  I am glad I am going to see my doctor on Monday to discuss Celiac and other things.  I have to make a list of topics to bring up with her!  Yesterday, I started my gluten feast and crashed around 2PM (took a nap!).  This weekend is going to be rough.  I plan on keeping most of my gluten products to the afternoon hours so I don’t have to deal with the afternoon slump it creates.  Hopefully the *other* issues won’t keep me awake all night!  I can’t wait til this blood test is done and over with (that is *if* she even gives me a script for it) and I can go back to being Paleo!!!

What are you weekend plans?
Rob and I have lots of random things to do like going to the DMV, haircuts, etc.  We might go fishing with my dad too if we can.  I also have some around-the-house projects I started last week that I want to get done!

  1. That’s one of my favorites! 🙂 I also like the one where you step into a crowded elevator and turn around and say, “I bet you’re all wondering why I gathered you here today…” *snort* My kids and I like to surf the funny boards together – a great stress reliever. 😉

And I need to find a pan like that stat! I need more egg muffins for the mornings.

This weekend I’ll be tackling Ethan’s bedroom and prepping our house for a full-on Paleo overload. And taking Ethan to the doc. And hopefully getting a swim in too! Fun stuffs. 😉

    Have a good weekend!!

  2. Good luck at the Dr….hope you get your concerns resolved! I use silicone pans – they work like a charm, too….I think I’ve told you about my paleo pancakes…I might try them as mini muffins…it’s mashed banana, egg, coconut milk, vanilla, cinnamon and coconut flour…for the kids I add a few mini-choc chips (I get them at Wegman’s they have maybe 4 ingredients…I forget the brand) I will try as muffins this week in fact…I’ll report back!
