On the Way to Cape May

Hello!  (Anyone else know that song by the way?)  Anyway, yet another whirlwind weekend for Rob and I, and its not going to let up any time soon.  Just look at my calendar for September!

September2012

This weekend started off calm enough but then Rob decided he wanted to go to a rugby tournament in Delaware, about 3 hours away.  On the way, we stopped at my favorite farm stand to pick up some snacks for the long day ahead.

It really was a long day, the car ride actually taking 4+ hours due to traffic and construction.   We finally made it and Rob played in 3 games.

20120818_142930We housed 2 bags of these amazing chocolate covered nut clusters.  I bought them at Wawa (similar to 7-Eleven but WAY better and with a gas station) and was pleasantly surprised!  The ingredients were all natural (and they had them without the chocolate too but what’s the fun in that?) and the nutrition facts weren’t bad either.  And they were AMAZING!  I can never buy these again because I can eat the whole bag in one sitting.  I actually ate so many, I made myself sick.  LoL.  Then once Rob got a taste of them, those 2 bags were doomed.  Definitely a nice healthy treat though!

After the tournament was over, we decided to take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry back to New Jersey so that we didn’t have to drive (the price tag is not cheap to drive on which is why we didn’t do it both ways).  It was nice to relax on the boat and enjoy the ride!

After the 85 minute boat ride, it was just a short drive home!  Sunday was pretty much a day full of errands as usual and we didn’t get our run in (12 miles).  We had a lot of stuff to do yet didn’t really get anything done.  The only really productive thing was dinner which was a Lamb Roast.  It came out amazing!

We also treated ourselves to some ice cream at my favorite ice cream stand.  I didn’t eat it all and threw the rest in the freezer for Rob to enjoy later!

Another enjoyable weekend with the hubs!  Now, a week left of summer working before heading to South Africa.  And the fall semester starts on the 27th!  I can’t believe its time for school already!!

What did you do this weekend?

  1. What a fun weekend! We were busy with picnics and cleaning…I can’t wait to be back on a regular schedule. I am actually looking forward to the structure. Oh, and note to self…stay away from the Wawa snack section…

  2. We don’t have Wawa’s here but I always see people picking up neat stuff. They much be sort of “liberal” in the sense of not being backwoods…

Anyway! Looks fun and I loved those photos of the ferry 🙂

  3. Never been to a Wawa, but the name alone makes me want to giggle for hours. Looks like a fun weekend, though! I’ll have to keep an eye out for those yummy treats! *snatches bag and runs* I can’t believe it’s almost time for your SA trip! Eek! I’m going to miss you tons and I’ve never even actually met you! (Okay, now I totally sound like a stalker…)

  4. what a beautiful weekend! and dinner looks amazing!! (I am now starving haha)
