Seeing the Positives

I’ve been beating myself up a lot lately because I’ve been making poor decisions.  Yesterday, instead of worrying about the things I didn’t do right, I thought about the things I did!

1.  I went for a run.

I woke up not feeling so hot and kind of late so I first thought “meh, I’ll just skip it” and then I yelled at myself a little, got up, and threw on running gear.  No turning back after that!  I walked to the path, ran my mile, and walked the rest of the way home.  Better than nothing!

2.  I gave away treats.

This is the special cheese I made for Russian Easter.  We may have made a little too much…  Everyone at school wanted to try it so I made up little packages to give away.  I left a tiny bit for myself to enjoy  Smile

3.  I made a meal plan for today.

Breakfast – Hard boiled eggs and broccoli salad
Lunch – Leftover sub
Dinner – Hot ham and glazed carrots
Snacks – Leftover treats

This might not be the most healthy, glamorous meal plan but I need to use up the leftovers!

4.  I made a work out plan for the rest of the Under Armor What’s Beautiful Challenge

Lots of speedwork!  Also, cannot forget strength training.  Having strong legs will make me faster too!

Out of these 4 things, only 1 was really a daily goal so today, I want to hit 2 of my daily goals instead (tracking my food, drinking enough water, & getting exercise).  I’m pretty much glue to my chair though until this take home exam is done.  Yesterday, I had the worst time concentrating and I woke up feeling the same way this morning.  I know it is from the not-so-healthy foods I’ve been eating.  I eat too much sugar and sodium and I get a junk food hangover or something!  Anyone else have this problem?  Well, off to get my test done.  I want to hand it in today!

What positive thing did you do yesterday?

  1. Super-smart of you to box up that cheese and give it away! I always fall prey to stuff like that –when I have it around I can’t say no!

    1. Exactly! I can’t waist food so if it is there, I will eat it. I know some people say just throw it away but I refuse to!

  2. I think you did awesome!! Right now, my goal is to not binge, and eat as healthy as I can. only allowed to walk 15 minutes per day, andthat iswhen my knee isn’t flaring up!
