Back to School Fitness Results

Tonight when I got home, I immediately started my Back to School Fitness Test!  It was getting dark so I had to go out for my run ASAP.  I threw on some really, really bright clothes and ran out the door!

As you can see, my map is a little off there.  I never veered from my street.  LoL.  Whatever!  Good enough for me and this is the first time EVER that I have ran a mile in under 9 minutes!  Even in high school, I remember it being 9:something.  AWESOME!!! (I won’t lie though, I was dying, especially in the cold air!)

The Results:
I did 10 military push ups (OMG!  Way more than I thought I would) and 10 modified (knee) push ups.  23 sit ups.  The wall squat and plank were the hardest because I was pretty tired at that point already!  The wall squat I may have been able to hold longer but I was shaking.  The plank I held way back months ago for 2 minutes so that is something I need to work on again!  (But I also did it “fresh” before and not after push ups, sit ups, etc!).  I was pretty happy with my sit and reach too!

The Plan:
Since this month is all about running, I’m definitely going to work on that mile time.  Thursdays are supposed to be speed work days and I will get on that!  I also want to incorporate more stretching into my routine (the S&R).  And strong abs are essential for running so that plank better get longer too!

So how did you guys do?  Better than you thought?  What are you planning on working on this month?

PS.  Thanks to Rob for “coaching” me!  He cheered me on “just a bit more!!!” on the trunk test and I raised 1.25 inches higher!  Ha!
