It has been quite a busy week already! Monday night, I had orientation for my new grad school. It was the first time I got to explore campus and I was bummed my foot hurt and couldn’t walk around more, but the buildings I did get to see were beautiful.
I made myself a promise that I would dress up more for the upcoming semester. Not only does it make me feel better about myself but I also want to look professional while I’m in my new grad program. I am thinking about doing some sort of challenge for myself to post a picture of my outfit each day next month but I started early with orientation!
I had a good time and was glad it didn’t take as long as they said it would. Class start tomorrow and it will be the first time I take the train. I hope everything goes smoothly! I have lots to do on campus before classes too so it will be pretty hectic.
Health & Fitness
I slept terrible Sunday night so when my alarm went off Monday morning, I chose to sleep in for the sake of being alert and sociable at orientation – so no workout. Today, Rob and I had a very busy morning and had to be out of the house. Rob was meeting a friend at the gym in the afternoon so I tagged along without knowing what I would do when I got there.
Quick foot update: It was hurting all day Monday that I arranged an appointment with my sports doctor on Thursday morning. It kept hurting more throughout the day. I actually found that it feels better when I wear heels which is counterintuitive because it was the ball of my foot that hurt. Hm. Today, it feels much better but I am still getting it looked at on Thursday.
So when I got to the gym, I decided I would try to do a leg workout with just the machines. Sadly, there are only 4 machines: Leg Extension, Leg Curl, Hip Abductor, Hip Adductor. I did all of those and then got to my normal Chest & Tris routine. I also did 10 minutes on the stationary bike for a warm up and had no pain! Like I said though, it is feeling better today so it could be a fluke.
Tomorrow, the plan is to be on the 9:13AM train so I have to get up early to hit the gym. I hope to squeeze some blog time in but no promises! I have to get my two IDs tomorrow and then I have class from 2:30-8PM (I hope we end early – first day and all). So begins my busy season!
Good Luck on your first day of school! I love seeing what other people wear, so feel free to post your outfits! haha I know that I feel better when I wear actually people clothes. Wearing sweats and yoga pants are so comfortable, but not that flattering and I don’t really Seize The Day when I’m wearing sweats. Have fun!
That is a pitfall of working from home…I am just comfy most of the time. Some days when I run out and get dressed to do so, I forget that I have on no makeup until I’m out and look in my rearview! Yikes!!! However, I’ll take working from home and staying with my pups anyday!
