Banana Smoothie

I woke up not feeling so hot this morning so I wanted something plain and simple.  What better than a banana smoothie?

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup Almond Milk (or liquid of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • 2 raw eggs (or pasteurized eggs)
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1/2 cup Kale
  • Cinnamon
  • Supplements & Add-ins
    • Chia, Flax, L-Arginine, Fucoxanthin (Brown Seaweed), Kre-Alkalyn

This seriously tastes like a banana milkshake (but not as thick – use frozen bananas if you have them!).  I’ll be saving this recipe for future use!  I also made sure to only put a tiny bit of kale in (for nutrition) so I couldn’t taste it but it still turned the whole thing green.

Health & Fitness
The plan for today is to get a run in sometime and if I don’t do that (since its clear now but starts thunderstorming around lunch), I will do a workout DVD or treadmill intervals instead.  I can also workout tomorrow morning, which is typically a rest day, because I won’t be doing my long run until Sunday this week.  It’s supposed to thunderstorm tomorrow though too 🙁

Also, I made an agreement with a Spark People friend that we would try to follow Paleo every day for the rest of the month with the option of 1 non-Paleo food per day.  Of course, I won’t use it every day but its nice to have it.  Recently, I’ve noticed since cutting out all grains and almost all dairy that that my body violently reacts to those things (and high levels of sugar) when I eat them now.  Before, I guess I just felt kind of terrible all the time so I didn’t notice!

Do you bike or run in the rain?  How do you deal with inclement weather?
I am a big pansy.  I don’t like getting wet, especially my socks and shoes.  I’ll run in a very light mist but that’s about it.  I don’t do rain, and I especially don’t do thunder and lightening!

  1. While we’re in the Midwest (supposed to be GREEN unless snowy), year 2 of drought means the ranch has seen 2 showers in 2.5 months. Trees are dying (shrubs, esp.), so my version of “inclement” weather is the HEAT: I go tmill in the AC 🙂

  2. I dont like the rain. only to play in. although I have run before when it is just misting and it was kindof nice. it kept me cool and it wasn’t annoying
