Christmas 2012

Good morning!  I’ve been quiet the last few days because of the holiday so now its time for a recap.  First, let’s go through the pictures.  It was Stormageddon’s first Christmas so he needed his holiday photo.  He was so nice to pose for me!

We spent all day Monday cleaning the house and setting up for Christmas breakfast which we host at our house every year.  Rob cooked the breakfast meats while I handled the selection of crust-less quiche.  We also had a waffle bar set up.

And no pictures of the guests of course (I’m so bad at that nowadays).  It was mostly Rob’s family as mine had church and stuff.  We ended up seeing everyone from my family at my grandmother’s later that day so it worked out!  Overall, it was a really nice, quiet Christmas!

DSC_5574Not much else to tell.  I got one health-related gift from my mom who is also doing the Paleo thing for her health.  She got me the Primal Blueprint Cookbook for Sauces, Dressings, and Toppings.  This will really help me in January for the Whole30 program to keep my meals interesting!  I’ve also been depending on store-bought dressings which are junk (they all have sugar) so now I can learn to make my own!

So that’s it for now.  I’ll do a health update tomorrow.  I hope you all had a great holiday season!

How did you keep it healthy during the holidays?

My biggest weakness during this time of the year is cookies.  I love cookies.  But this year, I made sure to only eat the ones that were my favorites.  I could probably could on 2 hands the total number of cookies I ate.  I had a bunch of my grandmother’s jelly stuffed cookies but otherwise, I barely had any!  That is a huge difference from the past, where I felt like I had to eat as many as possible since they wouldn’t be around again.  Basically, my old sugar cravings are finally under control  Smile
