Countdown

Good news!  I am almost done with this semester!  My two take home exams are handed in, I have homework and a short paper due tomorrow.  I need to work on at least one of those two tonight.  Then I just have an in-class final on Monday (but its going to be sooooo hard).  But then I’m done for almost 4 weeks!

Nutrition
DSCN5728 (800x600)So my diet hasn’t been the best this week.  Remember Monday’s M&M dinner?  Yesterday was the great ice cream attack.  This will be the death of me.  It is Edy’s Slow Churned Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream.  O.M.G.  I have been looking for a good peanut butter type ice cream and this one wins!  The Ben and Jerry’s one is 320 calories per half cup (crazy right?!) and this one I think is 130.  Heaven in a bowl.

I did have the most delicious pork chop for dinner though.  I do seem to be lacking plates (still in storage).  The bowl made it a little difficult to cut Smile.  Today, I used my cutting board which is big enough to carve a turkey on.  LOL

DSCN5731 (600x800)I also gave the Chia Charger another chance… and it was still bland.  I think it’s the lack of sugar and/or salt.  So I added both to my oatmeal this morning.  It needed more but it helped a little.  I know natural butters are generally without salt and sugar but my peanut butter that I prefer (Teddie) tastes much better I think.  Maybe it’s the peanuts they use?  Hm…  But I didn’t mention in my review that Chia seeds are crazy good for you so at least this has got that going for it!

Fitness
No workouts since Tuesday.  I slept in this morning and it was amazing.  I had a horrible headache last night and I am allergic to pain killers so I tried everything.  A hot shower helped a little but when I went to bed, it was still there.  I slept like a rock and woke up feeling much better.

I did redo my marathon schedule yet again.  I had it set to Hal Higdon’s Novice 2 but I changed it to Novice 1.  More weekly mileage with Novice 1 but it is distributed differently.  The Wednesday runs are actually longer on Novice 1.  We will see how that works out when it comes to my class schedule in the spring.

That is really all that is going on.  I should get to working on my last bit of work.  The sooner I get it done tomorrow, the sooner I can go back home to my kitties!  I mean, back home to Rob!  (And if I get home before 3:30 I can spoil the kitties with attention without neglecting Rob!  Hehe)

  1. Have a fantastic weekend home with Rob and the kitties! Don’t you remember the chia sludge drink that is mentioned in the Born to Run book? I’m going to see if I can make that for when I have longer runs…I love chia seeds… I like the way they “pop”!

    1. My girlfriend borrowed my book and never gave it back! If you find the chia seed recipe, let me know, I want to try it!
