CrossFit Endurance

I find it kind of amusing when you can see trends in blogs.  For example, I was looking for a more-fun marathon training plan that incorporated more strength.  Tina from Carrots’N’Cake was looking to include more CrossFit in with her running also (which I am fascinated with but wasn’t sure how to incorporate either).  At the same that, that great article was in Runner’s World about using CF for marathon training.  Then, since Tina’s blog is insanely popular, people pointed her toward a website called CrossFit Endurance!

Do you love CrossFit but are having trouble incorporating it with your endurance sport?  Well, apparently other CF loves have had this problem already and made CFE!  The thing I love about CF is that they share their daily workouts for free on their website and CFE is no different.  They have tons of resources for various endurance athletes (runners, cyclists, triathletes, etc).  Lots of demo videos and they of course have their Workout of the Day (WOD).  I think this is going to be a very useful resource for me!

This was my first time on the website but they seem to have a Strength workout, a Strength and Conditioning workout, and an Endurance workout.  Sadly, my long run is tomorrow so I can’t do today’s workouts Sad smile  but they look AWESOME.

Not much information on here today.  I just wanted to share this website with you all to add to your toolbelt!

Have you used CFE before?  Do you participate in CF?

They also have CrossFit specific gyms and “classes” at regular gyms (like mine). It is a lot of intense, fast workouts using plyometrics and quick movements. It builds serious strength. Check out these women who competed in the 2011 CrossFit Games:

When I grow up, I want to be just like them! LoL!

  1. CrossFit is VERY popular in the Paleo circles, too…from most of my research, it mimics the Ancestral Health movements/exercise in that moving heavy things and short quick runs (sprints) are what we used to do before we got sedentary (also think of farmers, Amish, etc…)….I think CrossFit is awesome for the health benefits and would LOVE to try it…the CrossFit gyms here don’t have many classes and it doesn’t fit my schedule (on top of being expensive for my budget of no gym costs!)…I will look at the CrossFit Endurance, though…I’m curious, since CrossFit and distance running usually don’t fit well together in the philosophy department! Thanks for an awesome resource!!!!

    1. Hiya Tiffany! Interesting you mention farmers, etc. cos you know, I grew up on a ranch, did about 4 hours of manual labor a day but that wasn’t in ONE 4-hour block. Also, it wasn’t carrying a boulder the entire 4 hours, just about an hour of that ;p

And we ate a lot of fat, though! Lots of it. And weren’t fat!
