DVD Review: Bob Harper Inside Out Method – Pure Burn

For some reason, I like to call this DVD “Pure Strength” but its not, its Pure Burn!  LoL.  I actually already wrote a DVD Review on this one before on the 25 minute beginners workout.  This time, I decided I was tough.  I just finished Insanity.  I am strong!  Bring on the 60 minute workout!

I have all the same great things to say about this workout as I did in the last review.  I love that Bob is so down to earth.  He is calm and encouraging but he also won’t let you slack off.  Also, the workouts aren’t really choreographed.  Everyone is working at their own pace and ability which makes you feel comfortable doing your own thing too.

As for the actual workout, it was tough.  I was sweating buckets.  I think I sweat more than I do during Insanity (actually, I burned more calories than most Insanity workouts at 477!).  None of the moves are particularly difficult or complicated.  It was things you know like lunges, squats, bicep curls, etc., but the way he puts them together really kicks your butt.

Also, the workout was 65 minutes long (5 minute warm up plus 60 minute workout).  My attention span usually lags at about 40 minutes and it did at first but then he got my attention back by changing the workout again (its almost like circuits or sets of moves).  Although it was painful and tough, it really wasn’t the worst hour I’ve spent.  I feel like the time went by fast enough that I wasn’t crying to be done!  I am pretty sure this is going to be put into my regular rotation!

Now, on to the surprise I mentioned earlier.  Look at this picture again…

See anything interesting?  Still no?

I have 2 copies!!  How did this happen?!  So you know what that means!  A giveaway!!!  To enter, just leave a comment on this blog telling me why you think its important to strength train on a regular basis.  I will have Rob randomly draw a winner on Friday!  Good luck!

  1. For me, it is important to strength train for two reasons: I am recovering from an injury and I am getting older (say it ain’t so!). I have to build muscle to keep my shoulder and knee getting better. Also, we lose muscle as we get older so I have to try and keep what I have now. Great blog!

  2. Important to ST regularily for a couple of reasons:
    1) burn after the workout!
    2) muscle takes up less room than the same mass of fat. (my fav!!!)

    and

    3) strong body runs faster!!!!

  3. love bob harper! I just discovered strength training in the past few months. But I love how strong I feel afterwards (and not as flabby haha)
