Local Eats: Bobby Chez

Yesterday,we we pressed for time during dinner since we were still out doing errands.  We tried just hitting Applebee’s since it was nearby but there was a 30 minute wait at 4:30PM!  OMG!  No way were we waiting for that so we headed toward our next errand and tried to think of places along the way.  We realized we hadn’t been to Bobby Chez in forever and decided to stop.  They are a take-out place but have some seats along the windows for those who want to eat in.

We had gone in for their incredible Crab Cakes made from lump crab meat with no fillers (bread crumbs) or mayo.  You can get them broiled or grilled so its nice to have a healthy choice!  Well, we went totally a different direction.  They have tons of amazing selections there so we looked, picked main dishes and some sides.  They have a “platter” menu too with great deals which I like to get at lunch sometimes.

On the bottom there is a big giant bin of Lobster Mac and Cheese.   I can’t even describe how delicious those are!  Anyway, we ended up ordering the Salmon, Chicken Parm, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Stir Fry Veggies.

Doesn’t it all look amazing??  It was!  Everything is fresh made and just wonderful.  I really don’t want to think about the calories in the mac and cheese but it was so worth it.  Look at that giant chunk of lobster!  Oh, and we made sure to tell them we were eating in.  Of course, the bring us our food and you pay after but you have to make sure that you tell them you need your food fully cooked if you are getting it to take out (and you are going to eat it right away).  Their policy is to only partially cook it.  Then you cook it for like 10-15 minutes when you get home so it is perfectly done when you are ready to eat.  I have done it before and its pretty nice to have a fresh cooked meal at home that you didn’t have to make!  Oh and they have a great deal on Sundays and Wednesday for $5 Rotisserie Chicken (limit 2).  Great to know if you have guests suddenly and nothing made!

I completely forgot to tell you, it was between this place and dinner at a restaurant or fast food (like Wendy’s, yuck).  Well, this is a pretty in-between place.  They cook the food quickly, there is no waitress to tip, and it was only $25 for what we got.  You can’t spend that little at a seafood restaurant!  We spend that much when we get Chinese take out!  This is so much better than Chinese!

  1. Such a great idea – takeout that you finish at home! And it looks amazing. Lobster’s on the menu every which way up here in Maine; LOVE seeing it down there too. 🙂

    1. It is such a treat when we get good lobster here for a reasonable price! I’m seeing it more often but that could be because I’m not too broke to afford it now? LoL!
