No More Streaking

First, I really need to figure out a new work area.  I managed to clean a spot on the kitchen table (still unpacking) but this guy thought it was cuddle time.

Anyway, Rob decided he was up for a run so I waited for him to get off work again.  I have to say, I am definitely an afternoon exerciser.  I’ve tried the morning thing but I always feel sluggish for those.  I exercise best during the afternoon slump so this schedule is working great for me!  It was another loop around the park for another 1.6 miles.

We did the trail counterclockwise this time and tried to run the whole way.  We walked maybe 2-3 times so not bad.  The time on my watch includes my cooldown (little to no walking) so the time is off but you can see I ran!

After the run, I tried another DVD but got bored/annoyed.  I don’t like exercise moves that are crazy (squat while bicep curling then kick and cartwheel! – no.)  I like straightforward moves that I know work (lunges, squats, etc.). Generally, kettlebell moves tend to be simple so I found a routine on Pinterest and loved it!

I was drenched in sweat by the end.  I plan on doing it 2-3 days a week for a few weeks.  Today, my knee is bugging me a bit (probably from the uneven trails) so we’re taking the day off. No more running streak for me!  I plan on doing 20 minutes of yoga to stretch out some of the soreness.

I also headed into the yard yesterday.  My dad mows around some strawberry plants for me and they were ready!

There are 2 patches and the big patch yields little, sweet berries.  The smaller patch has much bigger berries which weren’t quite as sweet.  Both amazing though!  I am going to dig some up at the end of the year and plant them in a box so my dad doesn’t have to let the grass grow high in that spot!  Haha.

This weekend, Rob and I are shooting another Mud Run for MudManX.  It is up in NY so it is about a 3 hour drive.  Sunday will be recovery (from the screwy sleep and eating patterns) and prep for the week ahead.  Off to prep for tomorrow and get some work done!  Hopefully the cats will sleep for an hour without bothering me Smile

Do you have edible wild plants in your yard?

In addition to the strawberries, we have grapes, dill, oregano, and mint (LOTS of mint).  I guess you could count all the dandelion too.  Who needs a garden!

  1. Jealous of those strawberries! We had wild raspberries in our yard at my parents’ when I was a kid, and I loved picking and eating them by the handful in summer. Have a great weekend!

  2. Haha cartwheels!! I totally understand those workouts. You spend more time googling them, thaan actually doingbthe workout haha
