P90X Has Begun!

P90X started as of Monday, and here are my workouts so far:

Monday:  Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X
Tuesday:  Sick (should have run but was not feeling well)
Wednesday:  Legs & Back

I will do Ab Ripper X tonight after work.  Tomorrow’s plan is to run and do Yoga X.  Friday is Shoulders & Arms.  As you can see, I’m not following the full P90X plan because I have to incorporate it with marathon training (I’ve cut out the Plyometrics and the Kennpo).  I am determined not to miss any P90X workouts though!  Now if I can find the motivation for the runs…

On another note, I’m going to South Africa!  You may have heard this already but its really official now because the flight is booked!  Now I am just waiting for info on the hotel and such.  I am so excited!!  We’re going to Johannesburg for about 4 days.  The flight is 17 hours (eek!).  Oh and my mom is just sooo funny.  She sent me this article this morning:  South Africa Snowfall Stuns Johannesburg.  Let’s hope it warms up a little bit before I go!

As for nutrition, my eating has been off but not too terrible.  Yesterday was bad with the belly ache affecting my appetite.  I had wanted to go completely Paleo this month but that got diverted since I am meeting my doctor on Monday to talk about celiac.  In order to have the blood test done (if she decides to give me the precipitation for it), I have to be actively consuming gluten or it won’t show up.  I’m taking it easy during the week but Rob is too excited for the carbo-loading that is going to happen this weekend.  Pasta, pizza, and bagels baby!  Of course I will feel terrible afterwards but its all in the name of long term health, right???

Have you done P90X before?  What did you think of it?
What is your opinion of Tony Horton?
At first, from what I had see of TH from the P90X infomercial that is on the Insanity DVDs right after the workouts, I thought I would be super annoyed with TH.  He actually isn’t nearly as annoying as they portray him in that infomercial.  He is pretty dorky and makes silly jokes but it doesn’t bother me at all!  He seems like a nice guy, very encouraging!

  1. I LOVE TONY!! He rocks!! He’s kind of dorky indeed, but I like his non-threatening way “Do what you can” I love his impression of a pterodactyl…

  2. YEA AFRICA!!! what an amazing experience!!! I have tried P90X. I liked it a lot, great workout! but I get bored with workout dvds because I know whats coming.
Also, good luck at the doctors, hope you get some answers!

  3. Ok… now I know why you are back ‘on bread’….

TH… he made me giggle. P90X HURT!! I made it thru 2 weeks.. but the second week, having my family come and sit on the couch to watch me, critique, comment and generally giggle at me just was more than I could take…. (Plus the yoga X was just sooo boooring! And I usually LIKE yoga! Next time, I’ll know to just skip that one!)

Which plan are you doing? In my workbook, there we 3 different plans…..

    1. I am followed a modified version of the Classic plan. Basically, I cut out all of their cardio and am replacing that with running! I kept YogaX and X Stretch also. Of course, I missed a few days so I feel like I am starting over again!

And I hate it when Rob watches me work out! I make him leave the room. Haha!

  4. I love it…and TH doesn’t bother me. I think he’s one of those you either love ’em or hate ’em kind of guys…I’ve done it so many times that I can predict what he is going to say and I know in the Ab Ripper when to switch legs on the one exercise by what he is saying and the change in music! Sick…
