Plans for 2015

Happy New Year!  The new year is kind of fun because everyone is excited to jump on the healthy band wagon.  I like seeing people motivated to get in shape and eat right.  It also makes it a lot easier for me to stay on track with my goals when everyone else wants to do the same thing.  Minimal bad influences around!

Of course, lots of people also set big grand goals for the new year but I’m not feeling that this year.  I didn’t really make big plans last year either.  Of course there are things I want to happen but I also know I have a lot more going on in my life that will make it hard to reach all my goals.  Do I want to devote tons of time to fitness and health?  Well, sure that would be great but I also need to pass my classes!  So instead of goals, I’m going to talk about expectations and hopes.  What do I want to do this year?  What direction do I want to go?

2015

Finish my Master’s Degree

I am going into my last semester in my Master’s program and I want to rock it.  It will take lots of time, energy, and commitment but it is the final push.  After this I will be done with schooling for a long, long time!  (Unless you ask Rob who says I will be going back for my PhD in no time!)

Prepare for New Adventures

Right now, I am in the process of applying for residencies to begin in July.  Step 1 is to get some interviews.  Step 2 is to do an amazing job at those interviews.  Step 3 is to get a residency and go! That will involve moving which means downsizing, packing, finding a place, etc.  The next few months are going to be a very stressful time for me but will lead to great things in the future.

Return to Regular Exercise

It is obvious that I have been struggling to keep a regular fitness schedule.  School always seems to get in the way but I need to find the time.  The exercise helps with stress levels, hunger, moods, etc.  I don’t need to do anything extreme, just do at least 30 minutes 5 times per week

Lose Some Weight

Finally, I want to get this weight off again!  I know what to do, I’ve just been letting it feel more complicated than it is.  Eat right and exercise.  Of course finding the time for exercise and food prep is key.  I just have to commit to it.  But school will come first before anything else.  If I can get this right too, then it is just a bonus!

Obviously 2015 will be a pretty crazy time for me.  I just want to get through it without too much stress.  The best thing I can do is plan ahead!
