Running & Insanity

I just don’t know what to write today!  This is round 3.  Let me be concise and categorize!

Yesterday, it was beautiful!  I woke up like usual but practically jumped into my running clothes when my phone told me it was 57 and sunny outside!  Not a bad nor good run overall.  I did 4.75 miles and couldn’t get into a rhythm the whole time.  Not a bad mileage for not running in a while.  The half marathon is in 2 weeks and I don’t know how it will go.  My fault for not training like I should.  I will try 10-12 miles this weekend but if all else fails, the time limit for the race is 4 hours.  At least I will finish in the time limit!

Today, I did the fit test for Insanity.  I just felt like doing something so I figured why not.  I probably won’t start the whole program until after the race but I might do a DVD occasionally before then.  The cardio can only help my running!  Rob is excited to start but I want to wait so I don’t over-train before my race!  I skimmed some of the other DVDs and it looks interesting.  I will do the full 60 days either way!

My eating was pretty good yesterday.  Lots of veggies.  I packed all bread things for school but decided to buy a salad on campus.  Much better idea but I am trying to use up leftovers and things.  I can’t bear to throw away food!  Rob’s idea was to feed it to the chickens and then eat the chickens, thereby nothing is wasted.  LoL!

Next week is spring break but I don’t know how much of a break it will really be.  I have school work to catch up with and an exam after break (the one that was supposed to be right after Ireland got pushed back, yay!).  I also need to start my research project for my lab.  I have been doing reading but I am hoping that the laptop will come in soon and I can get started.  I am a bit in limbo with it now.  I have been overloaded with homework though so I guess it is a good thing.

There!  A much better blog than the last few drafts.  Now, I have to get ready for the weekend and get back to work!

  • Wait, spring break? Does that mean you’ll be around to run with me next week?!?! I have a 3, a 5 and an 8 on schedule…

    • That is TBD 🙁 I had planned on being home at least a little bit but its up to my research advisor. I’m hoping since my laptop isn’t in yet that I will be able to spend a few days at home. I will let you know!

I hope you have a great break! (even though it sounds like you have a bunch to do)
Keep us updated on the insanity- I heard it is intense! im sure you’ll kick butt though haha

  • I tried the Insanity program a few months ago. Actually, I only did the “fit test”, and I couldn’t make it through most of it! Good for you for completing it 🙂
