Running Mayhem

I wrote my fun blog about Giving Up already this morning and now its time for the real update!  First off, my smoothie today for the July Smoothie Challenge is DELICIOUS!

  • 1 Banana
  • 3 Strawberries (for sweetness)
  • 1 cup Kale
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Curious Cocoa-Nut Peanut Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds

As always, I add my supplements too like Brown Seaweed, L-Arginine, and Kre-Alkalyn.  I can’t even explain to you how wonderful this thing is.  I took a sip and literally said “Oh My GOODNESS!” out loud.  I think it has something to do with the peanut butter that makes this so wonderful.  I didn’t add the strawberries at first but the kale flavor was killer so it needed more sweetness.  You could also just use stevia, truvia, or honey instead.  Oh, and I always add some ice cubes to my smoothies.  It keeps them colder longer.

In other news… I ran yesterday and today!  And both were terrible!!  LoL.  I tried running in the heat yesterday and I just couldn’t handle it.  I quickly headed back for the nice air conditioned building.  Then this morning, I woke up at early’o’clock to get a run in before it got too hot but it was horribly muggy.  My legs were a little tight but not too bad.  Actually, my body felt pretty darn good and so did my mind but my breathing was completely off!  I was practically gasping for breath.  I don’t know what was up with that.  I called it quits and headed back to the house because my run was quickly turning into a walk (just look at the pace – 14 min/mile!).

I even attempted some yoga after that but still couldn’t get the breathing down.  I will just try another run tomorrow morning!  I’m sure it was just a fluke.  Or maybe it was my body’s way of protesting an early morning run 🙂  But another run tomorrow will make 3 days in a row!  Woohoo!

That is pretty much it for today.  I’m looking forward to my long run this weekend because check out this weather.  It will be perfect for Rob’s all-day rugby tournament on Saturday too!  Can’t wait for the weekend!

  1. I’ve been looking at the weekend weather, too…girls have another soccer tourney…last time it was 100! Looks like this time it will be a bit better…
I’ll be out again early tomorrow morning…I’ll send strong running/breathing vibes your way!

  2. We’re a good 10F above you…it’s horrible here.

Congrats on getting in those runs, though! You’ll get back in form quickly 🙂

  3. I am jealous of your weather. Can I move there and train with you and tiffany?!?! I mean work can deal without me there for a few months right!?!? This weekend I work 5 in a row, my goal is to wake up 2 mornings to workout and/or run. And one workout after work. Say some prayers for me haha
