Slamming into September

Happy Friday!!  I don’t have classes on Fridays and it is such a relief!  Phew!  And just think, that was only 2 days of classes (though I was there Monday too).  I will get used to it though.  It is always hectic the first few days of school when you are trying to find classes, buy books, get your ID, etc.

Sadly, I think I wore myself out though because I feel like I’m coming down with a chest cold.  It started yesterday and I felt phlegmy when I woke up this morning.  I am hoping with a little rest, it will go away on its own.  My prevention procedure involves lots of water and Emergen-C packets just in case.

This month coming up is going to be crazy.  In addition to classwork, we also have lots of other things to attend, often faculty lectures and things.  They sent out a schedule and I’ve added it to my Google Calendar.  (This is just school things!)

September2013

Obviously, I’m going to have to really be on my game this month so I’ll need to actually schedule in my gym time.  It might not seem like a lot on the calendar but prep and travel are going to take away a lot of my time.  While I can study and relax on the train, it is time that I completely have to dedicate to being still.  Right now it is a challenge getting to the gym, and I think once I settle into my routine, I will figure out a good schedule for myself!  But I’m just here to tell you all I’m not going to quit!

So here’s to hoping I don’t get sick because I don’t have time for that.  I want to hit the gym today but I don’t want to wear my body out.  Rob and I are traveling to the city tonight for a Happy Hour thing with the department.  We will meet the second year students and faculty members so I really wanted to go.  We’ll ride the train in and then walk around campus a bit.  Rob likes to have an idea of where I am, how safe it is, etc.  And I think he really just wants to ride the train (its so fun!).

So I don’t think I’ll make solid goals for next month because tracking and counting anything just sounds like a lot of extra work right now.  I always keep track of my workouts though so maybe I can report back at the end of the month with a nicely filled calendar?  I have some things I’m trying to do on a regular basis though:

  • Dress for Success
  • Eat for Mental Health – That means avoiding grains, dairy, and sugar for me!
  • Love the Gym – Make that membership worth it!  I’ll try to hit the gym every free day I have!!
  • Keep a Healthy Body – Avoid getting sick, help this “injury” recover, etc.  I want to be back into tip-top shape!

And that is all for today!  I have to get going to do errands and things today.  I want to make sure my weekend is completely open to spend with Rob!
