The Beast Returns

IMG_20140907_152616I wasn’t going to say anything but I can’t keep secrets so I have to let you all know (and it was on my Instagram and Facebook anyway), I’ve ordered Body Beast!  You might remember that I tried it a few years ago and loved it.  I never did the whole program (I am a chronic non-follower-of-fitness-programs) but I still liked the concept and loved having the workouts on hand to use whenever.

Am I going to follow it this time?  Well probably not because I’ve decided that instead of putting off my lifting goals until after the half marathon, I might as well just start now while training for the half marathon.  I did my first Body Beast workout last night!

If you have used the DVDs before, it is pretty simple to do the workouts without them on your own.  I have the tracker sheets so I did my thing last night while I wait for the DVDs to come in the mail.  I don’t mind watching Sagi the DVDs too but it is nice that once you learn, you don’t need them all the time.

So how does this work with my half marathon training?  Well, I’m not really sure.  I’ve been slacking on my runs and while this really needs to change, I really don’t want to just run all the timeMy training schedule says things like “Cross Training” and “Strength Training” but that doesn’t excite me like seeing “Body Beast Build Chest & Tris” on my schedule does!  Maybe having this drastic variety in workouts will motivate me a bit more to get out there and pound the pavement?  We’ll see I guess!

I’ll report my workouts as I go.  Hopefully I can start getting out there more and have weekly recaps again.  I’m not making any promises of doing the program in full.  I’m just doing what feels comfortable and right for me!

What type of workout is your favorite?
I don’t have a favorite really.  I like everything!  Zumba, running, cycling, lifting, the list goes on!
