What I Ate 8/24/14

How was the first day of the challenge?  Well, the challenge is to report everything and here it is!

So technically, that’s it right?  Well, not exactly.  Let’s take yesterday as an example of how I’ve been eating for the last few weeks.  Lots of junk.  And that repeated picture of the beer isn’t a mistake.  There were two.

On the bright side, I ran/walked 4 miles yesterday!  It took us over an hour but we had some serious obstacles:

Apparently the “Do Not Use Boardwalk” sign was knocked over (we fixed it on our way back) and we found some very questionable areas including missing boards, sinking pilings, and a tree to crawl through.  It was quite the adventure.  I don’t know how long it has been like this nor how long it will take them to fix it but I hope they do it soon because this is one of my favorite paths!  We just don’t go here too often because the drive is a little long but I want to start using it more once my runs get longer.  Overall though, this was a good run and I had some decent streaks of running with little walking in the last 2 miles (I always say it takes me the first 2 miles to warm up!).

Anyway, back to my eats.  I tracked it all in My Fitness Pal (username: sugirl06 – add me!) and it wasn’t that bad because we basically skipped a whole meal.  1813 calories but way too high on carbs and low on protein.  I like to keep my diet higher in protein with moderate carbohydrates.  This is not always easy, especially when I’m not cooking a lot.  I also need to work on keeping my calories lower in order to lose weight.  It would be best if it were made up of healthy, unprocessed foods too.

So things to work on this week:

  • Eat more protein.
  • Drink more water.
  • Watch my calorie intake.
  • Do my workouts!

That’s all for today!  I have to get ready to leave for school.  It is going to be a loooong week!
