WIAW: 32nd Birthday Weekend

It seems like Wednesdays are the only days I get a chance to post a blog!  This week, I’m going with the usual What I Ate Wednesday.  This week, its all about the meals out.  Monday was my birthday so there were special meals out for that but we also just ate out more than usual this past week.  I am so ready for home cooking!

After the fair, we went to a local place for ice cream.  Strawberry Cheesecake was delicious!

Saturday – Breakfast at Smithville Bakery.  Rob and I love going out for breakfast!

Normally, I just go to Smithville Bakery for their bread but this omelet special was pretty awesome.  Bacon, onion, tomato, cheddar omelet topped with avocado and Sriracha sauce.  YUM

Saturday, around lunch, I was back at Carrabba’s for a painting party with family and friends.  I wasn’t hungry because of breakfast but I split this cannoli dessert with a friend.  I really liked the addition of the pistachios on top.

Paint party means drinks too.  And that paint was already there, I  promise.

Sunday: Breakfast at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House (Ocean City, NJ).  Every Sunday, we have breakfast with my in-law’s.  I went with Strawberry stuffed pancakes.  Delicious.

Monday: Dinner at Sakura.  Official birthday dinner out with the parents and in-laws was hibachi.  It was a lot of fun and always a good show/dinner.

My hubby knows the way to my heart – Ice Cream Cake.  It is required for my birthday!

As you can see, there has been a ton of eating out lately!  I’m actually kind of tired of it and am looking forward to more meals at home.  Food definitely tastes better out at restaurants but it costs so much and definitely takes up more time.  I enjoyed my birthday weekend but it is time to get back to real life!

What is your favorite meal to have made for you?

I am really awful at cooking scallops.  Don’t bother with cooking tips because I’ve tried them all.  I just reserve them now for eating out at restaurants.  I got the steak and scallops at Sakura and they were fantastic!  Better than anything I could do.

  1. Everything looks so delicious! I will say 9 out of 10 times i would rather eat at home. But lately we have been finding great places (history of eating at places that just didn’t cut it)
But I want to eat ALL THE THINGS when I go out, at least at home I can eat in moderation haha

  2. Sounds like an amazing week with friends and family! Happy Birthday! ???? My favorite thing to have made for me is oddly enough salad. I think it’s because I make boring salads so having someone do it for me, creativity of others really excites me.
