Getting Ready for the Holidays

2013-12-16 09.29.03This weekend was pretty much spent getting ready for the holidays.  Saturday, Rob and I decided last minute to go to the Grey Sharks rugby get-together (basically, all the alumni from the program).  We had a good time there, and then headed home to relax together.  It was a really nice day!

Sunday, my sister came over to help us clean and decorate a bit.  We’ve unpacked the decorations and put up the tree but because a lot of my Christmas stuff is from Lenox (grandmother worked there for forever and always buys us nice presents), they are too breakable to put out early because of kitties.

As you can see, we only have a little tree.  I’d love to get a big, live one but it wasn’t in the stars this year.  The table will be covered up when guests are over but it’s a cat-fort when its down and they go berserk so we keep it up the rest of the time.  Oh the joys of cat ownership!

They were kind enough to all pose for pictures yesterday Smile

Enough about the kitties!

I didn’t get fitness in because my stomach was still killing me.  I managed to get it mostly back to normal again though.  Yay!  I’m still babying it and eating all those bananas I bought.  I also have a giant container of Naked Green Machine which has lots of veggies in it.  It also has ginger which is supposed to help with digestion (the other brand option at the store had everything but the ginger).  This is going to be part of my daily breakfast until its gone.  I might even throw in a prune or two for digestive health.

Which brings me to a clean eating challenge in January.  A friend of mine is already hosting one on Facebook.  I had thought Whole30 but I think the pressure of it is was too much for me.  Tell me I can’t have something and I suddenly want nothing else!  LoL, I’m such a child, right?  But “Clean Eating” sounds so much easier.  This way, I can do as close to Paleo as I like with maybe a treat here and there (I’m a sucker for bagels).

That’s pretty much it for today.  I’ve got to get studying.  I have a final Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.  I also have a take home due on Sunday.  I have a ton of stuff to do this weekend though so it would be great to get that done early.  Anyway, I better be off!

Plan for the week:

  • Keep eating easy (bananas, Green Machine, prunes, lots of water)
  • Movement!  Gym or walking.
  • Study study study!

    1. You are right! I didn’t even notice the lack of fiber. I only use the Naked Juice when I’m desperately trying to heal my stomach – like you said, too much sugar. I have been just drinking it but was thinking about adding my protein powder, flaxseed, and supplements. Maybe I’ll add a few others things to boost the fiber too! Thanks for pointing that out!!

  1. I love the posing kitties pics. That’s great and hard to come by! My fave is that last one with the wreath and tree, though!
