Missed Exercise

Hello everyone!  I know, I’m done with school and my blogging has been even more sporadic than ever!  That is because I am trying to get ready for my trip to Florida and spend as much time with friends and family as possible.  Being so busy lately though means that I have had a few missed workouts…

I knew I would be busy Friday so I made up one of the two on Thursday beforehand.  Yesterday, I was just out all day and thought about making it up today.  My question though is is that really necessary? It might be fun to say “I did every single T25 sorkout for the 10 weeks!”, it isn’t really my ultimate goal.  My goal is to lead a healthy lifestyle and that means working out regularly, not every single day.

On the other hand, I am a little afraid of the slippery slope of missing 1 workout leading to missing more and more.  I just have to not let myself do that.  Just because you missed a workout doesn’t mean you will miss the next if you put your mind to it.  The same does for tracking food and eating.  One bad meal doesn’t mean the day (or week) is wasted.

So do I need to make it up?  Honestly, no.  I don’t want to kill myself trying to get every workout in.  If I feel motivated and energetic and I want to do a double, then I can.  If I plan ahead (like last Thursday), then that is awesome.  Just keep going!

When following a program, do you try to make up workouts or just keep moving forward?

  1. I used to think I needed to double up my workouts if I missed a day. I still sometimes think it could be helpful if I had the time. But I also need to be realistic and know that there will be days where I just skip. And they’re just going to be my mandatory ‘rest days.’

    1. I never really felt the need to make up workouts until now. Since I’m doing a “program” and feel committed to it, I feel like I’m cheating out by missing a workout here or there. Maybe I will move some to this weekend if I have time/energy!

  2. I know you had a few missed workouts, but look at the other days- you are doing awesome!! keep it up!

  3. Like Kristen said, look at the ones you did! You had an 80% success rate! That’s great! And think about how much better it is than when you weren’t doing any!!! Keep up the fabulous effort and don’t worry about a missed one here or there!!!
