NASA Day!

Friday was an exciting time!  My school planned a trip down to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center to network and learn about their Optics department (what my degree will be in).  It was definitely very interesting to see what can be done with the degree there and the types of things they get to work on.  They had some really awesome projects they showed us!

The two things on the right are both cryogenic chambers.  The upper one is big enough to put an entire satellite into it!  At the end of the day, we just had some fun in this room with a huge sphere hanging from the ceiling and projectors around it.  It has a program that basically makes it look like a planet is floating in the room.  SO COOL!

Then we all ran around in the basically kid’s learning area playing.  Haha, adults never really grow up!

So that’s pretty much it!  It was a ton of of fun but a long day.  I drove the 2 hours to school and then it was a 2 hour bus ride to the center.  And then the same back home.  I slept well last night!

Today was a day of errands and relaxing with Rob!  We decided that I would do my run and homework tomorrow.  We had lots to do today so we got started right away with breakfast at Smithville Bakery.  The store in the picture is Cook’s Corner which has awesome cooking supplies and coffees.  The bakery had lots of delicious looking goodies though!

Then it was off to the grocery store and some other errands we needed to do.  I had to laugh to myself when I saw that Newman’s Own now has its own line of Cat Food!

Once we got home, we were supposed to go to the movies but the Three Musketeers is only in 3D at our theater and it was $42 for 3 passes!!!  INSANE!  I am not paying that besides that I didn’t want to see it in 3D.  Since that was a bust, we headed back home after lunch at Moe’s.  Rob had gotten a new island for our kitchen.  Love it!  We also decided to try our magnetic knife holder on the back and it looks cool!

That is pretty much it for our weekend so far.  I’m sure tomorrow will be extremely boring so I’ll probably give you an update on my goals (hint:  it’s not good).  To end, here are some pictures of the birds we are getting with our new feeder.  They love it!

I almost forgot too, a sampling of the things I’ve eaten the last few days.  What isn’t pictures is the millions of Kit Kats I’ve eaten.  They need to get out of the house!!!

PS.  Can you tell I discovered the collage maker on Picasa?  It is pretty hard to upload pictures and edit them with WordPress so its just easier to do it on Picasa first.  Some things I miss about blogspot.
