The Loews Hotel Chicago

For 10 days on my business trip, I had the privilege of being able to stay at the Loews Hotel in Chicago’s Loop.  Only a few blocks from Lake Michigan, shopping, restaurants, and work, it was the perfect place to stay for this trip!

Check-in didn’t go smoothly because of a problem with my reservation (not a normal issue so I wouldn’t hold it against them).  The woman at the desk though was awesome and did everything she could to help and called me immediately when she figured it out.

The room was absolutely beautiful and spacious.  I can’t even tell you how comfy this bed was!  I never wanted to leave!

The lobby was really pretty, bright, and airy.  There was a bar that served snacks in the morning and drinks at night.

I ate breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, Rural Society, each day.  It is an Argentinian style steakhouse run by Iron Chef Jose Garces.

I stuck with omelets and eggs each day so I can’t tell you about their specials.  What I can say is that the bacon is FANTASTIC.  Thick, crispy, awesome.  The top picture is of their Argentinian breakfast featuring a croissant and chorizo sausage.  Also, they serve Starbucks Reserve coffee!

The whole trip, I kept checking out the rooftop lounge from afar (aka the view from my room).  This is on the third floor of the hotel and is open to the public via elevators next to the hotel entrance.  They had Corn Hole and giant Jenga sets to play with in the grassy area.  There were also a few events that happened over the weekend (like weddings?).

Rob came for a visit over the weekend and we decided to have some drinks at the bar before he headed back home.

Obviously we found it relaxing and peaceful.  Also, the drinks were fantastic, reasonably priced, and you could see Lake Michigan in the distance.

I didn’t use the hotel’s exercise room but I did check it out.  No pictures because I wasn’t on my blogging game but it was HUGE, had floor to ceiling windows, new equipment (the hotel just opened this year), and a gorgeous pool with marked lanes for swimming laps.   The standards of this hotel are very high.

Overall, my experience at the hotel was fantastic.  I am glad since I was staying for 10 days!  Everyone was kind and helpful.  I even chatted with some of the restaurant staff about moving to Chicago.  Also, after my rough check in, the front desk sent me a gift!

I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Chicago.  You’ll have to check online to see what room rates are for here, but I would highly recommend The Loews!

  1. I love that they didn’t only set you up after an issue but sent a gift. A lot of places wouldn’t go that extra step. Kudos to Loews.
