Midterm Time

DSCN6226 (768x1024)It is midterms week so sorry for my absence but its going to be a crazy week!  I stayed in Dover this weekend and already wrote about half of my weekend (Stuck In Dover).  The rest was pretty uneventful really.  We hung out at another local coffee shop I found.  They make wonderful lattes!  But the internet is tricky there (I will write a local eats blog about it!).

DSCN6228 (768x1024)After we were done with coffee and internet, we decided to putz around the mall for a while.  It was a good thing because I found a  small 1.5 quart crock pot for $12!  Just the right size for 1 person!  Can’t wait to use itSmile  Then we headed down to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch some rugby.  We called around and it was the only place that would put the Ireland Rugby game on for us (even the Irish pub had no idea what we were talking about).  The game got canceled though but the manager knew of a rugby sevens tournament and put them on for us instead.  How nice!  And we sat for like 3 hours and no one minded (it was slow so we weren’t hogging the table).  We’ll definitely be going back there for all of our sport watching needs!

DSCN6238 (1024x768)We didn’t feel like going home to just sit around so we stopped by the casino just so I could check it out.  It wasn’t much but I live near Atlantic City so I have high standards.  Really, nothing special.  There were a few nice restaurants that maybe Rob and I can try sometime but that’s it!

On Sunday, Rob and I decided to get some cleaning done and hang around the house.  He gets antsy though so we decided to go out for a bit about midday and see if we could hunt down a cheap bookcase.  We thought it would at least take a few hours, checking several stores.  I suggested we try the Goodwill store that I saw the day before.  Our long day of shopping turned into the prefect shopping day.  The Goodwill had 2 bookcases that I loved!  We got both and were done!  Of course, then we didn’t want to go home.  The coffee shop was closed because it was Sunday (I hate that!).  We drove around for a while, checking out the area before heading home to put the one bookcase together.  That’s right, the one was still in the box, brand new!

My place is starting to look homey!  And my books can finally be unpacked and picked up off the floor.  Haha!

Fitness & Health

Ok, this is really sad.  I have been totally not healthy lately.  Food is awful, exercise is totally lacking.  Running?  Ha!  Not in the snow!  Today, I drug myself out of bed and maybe myself work out immediately.  I think for a while, I am going to just try to stick to workout DVDs every morning, just to get back into a routine.  I am just not motivated lately to do anything healthy.  My goal every weekend is to get my long run in but that hasn’t been happening either.  I’m just going to take it day-by-day right now and try to get out of this funk!

  1. sorry you are in a workout funk, but I know you will get back in the game! And love the bookcases!!! What a great day just to go w/ the flow w/ Rob. Sounds perfect

  2. A, at least you’re spending time with hubby. RELATIONSHIPS are the most important thing, so you’re taking care of business. Letting things go a few days is okay! I know you’ll come back better for it.

  3. I heard on the news yesterday that the temperature “lows” are now on an upward swing, meaning that the heart of winter is over and the overall avg. temps are heading up! Yeah! That should help with wanting to get out there and run/walk! Luckily for me, we have a newly adopted pup from the shelter and he NEEDS to head out every morning for a walk or run. So our routine has been to head out for a nice long walk or run (longest we’ve done is 3 mi) after the girls get on the bus. No options. Must take dog out. Sadly, we lost our 13 yr. old pup a few weeks ago and he hadn’t been able to run with me in years…so this is nice. The new one LOVES running! He doesn’t get tired or winded and I’m the one saying “we’re done, let’s go home!”…. This morning it was mild and a few tiny raindrops fell…it certainly made if feel and “smell” like spring! Even heard some birds chirping!!!!
