Nature Hates Me

The Plan:  To do my long run today.
The Reality:  The gods are against me.  It snowed.

So now I have to decide between a possibly icy park and the treadmill.  And you all know how much I love the treadmill…

RunnersWorld201202I have been terrible lately with my runs.  Where is my motivation?  I know I have been busy too but I know sometimes its just excuses.  I need routine again!  Classes start on Monday so I will be able to hopefully make myself a new routine to stick to.  I had to laugh though that this month’s Runner’s World came in the mail and it’s the Motivation Issue!  Maybe this will have some good tidbits for me.

I may actually bump my run to tomorrow.  I just checked the weather and its supposed to be 52 tomorrow!  But then, working out the day before a long run doesn’t sound like a good idea (excuse or logic?).  I’m thinking I can do some upper body work and ab work.  I found out from Tiffany today that she hurt her hip running because her abs were weak.  I tend to have sore hips after runs so I guess I should start adding more ab work in!  Who knew?

Anyway, I haven’t had much to talk about in my blogs the last few days.  I can’t believe I skipped 2 days of blogging!  Ha!  Maybe I need to do more food blogs just to have something to write about.  I should have better topics tomorrow because I’m going to try to make Larabars today with some dates I bought at BJs.  I hope they freeze well because I don’t know how I could eat them all otherwise!  Anyway, off to work on my to-do list!

  • Make Larabars
  • Check class schedule
  • Do Laundry
  • Pack for Delaware
  • Exercise!!!!

  1. Hope you had fun making your Larabars! Let me know how it went…I see recipes all the time for them and buy the ingredients with full intention of making them…however, by the time I find I have time to tackle the project, I discover that I’ve already eaten the ingredients!!! LOVE fresh dates…yumm…and raw nuts, and dried cherries w/o sugar….well, you get the picture…
    Have a good long run and YES…work that core, girl! (you’ll get faster, too…your core helps with picking up your legs, and it will just make you a better, more efficient runner! That and beach ready!!!)
