In Transition

Man, it has been a rough couple of weeks!  Good news is that I finished my last final yesterday and turned it in early afternoon.  I then proceeded to do absolutely nothing productive for the rest of the day.  I lie, I packed a little bit for my trip home this weekend so we don’t have to move everything at once.  Other than that, I just putzed around on the computer or watched tv.  It was glorious.

Next up is the move out process from my school apartment.  I finally get to live with my husband again!  Yay!  It is unclear what I’ll be doing this summer as of yet.  I have to meet with my professor but there have been rumors of a non-thesis option.  I need to work this summer though so I’d rather spend it working for the school toward a thesis (or doing some sort of research for them) than at some crappy summer job.  I won’t know more until I see my adviser but the goal this summer is to do more physics and not serve coffee.

So its another week spent at school (going home this weekend first though) and then full time at home.  I really cannot wait.  I have to figure out some sort of schedule for myself though so I don’t waste away the hours at home.  I know I will try to make one and it won’t work.  It will take a few weeks but Rob and I should settle into some sort of routine.  The kitties also need to learn that just because I’m home doesn’t mean I’m there to play and pet and cuddle all day!  (They are so hard to resist!)

So, no fitness the last two days.  I had some crazy bad stomach pains probably of my own doing and the exam to finish.  This morning, I needed to get to campus ASAP so I could hopefully catch my adviser (he’s not in yet…) before a friend comes over at 11 to help me carry my kitchen table down from my second floor apartment.  Maybe I can get home early enough this afternoon to do something.

As for my running goal, my ankles are not happy about that fast mile I did on Tuesday.  They are both very sore.  I’ve never had sore ankles before, it’s a little strange.  I’m thinking it might be because I ran in my low-drop Brooks Pure Cadence.  I’ve run in them before for long runs though?  So now my overall What’s Beautiful goal is to run a sub-2:30 Half Marathon.  Totally doable.  (My ultimate goal is really a 2:11 – about a 10 minute mile but we’re working on baby steps.)

Oh, and there is talk of an ultra marathon again from Rob.  He is one crazy hubby!  I actually would love to do at least a 50K but maybe a few years from now, when I’m in crazy-awesome shape and my ankles don’t hurt.

Ok, enough babbling for today!  I just woke up this morning really looking forward to blogging.  Maybe because it isn’t getting in the way of exam time anymore?  Perhaps!  Probably also because there was no “obligatory” blog to post today.  I have a lot of those coming up (including a GIVEAWAY) so please check them out.  I’ll make sure to also do a daily recap.  Its just a very busy time right now for me – home-life, school-life, and blog-life!

What are your plans for the weekend?
I’m so excited, I basically have no plans!  I have to pick up my Thirty One order from Lauren and go to Rob’s rugby games.  That’s it!  Woohoo!  That means I have no excuse not to work out and meal plan right?!
