Marathon What?

I just have not been motivated for this whole “marathon training” thing that I’m supposed to be doing!  My weekends have been crazy hectic and I haven’t been making my long runs a priority.  Also, my “cheat meals” (hate that term) from being Paleo aren’t helping me either.  They make me feel terrible, sometimes for days, making me not want to work out.

I also got a little intimidated by my current training plans since I wasn’t keeping up with it.  “Was it too late?” was my worry so I headed over to Runner’s World and used their Smart Coach app to make some new ones.  I now have 4 training plans on my calendar!  LoL!

I definitely think I am going to do the new ones though from Runner’s World.  I like that it is 3 days a week and gives me some speed work and pace goals.  I won’t worry about pace so much on my long runs but I would like to work on it for my shorter runs.

So I feel much better with these new plans!  Now, I just have to make running a higher priority AND eat better.  I’ve already got my long run for this weekend planned for bright and early Sunday morning!  My new Sunday routine is just going to have to include a morning run!

On a related note, this month’s Runner’s World had an article called Foot Work on strengthening your ankles and feet for better running and injury prevention.  Remember my pesky Insanity injury?  Its been popping up here and there.  I’m so excited to use these moves to work those muscles.  I tried a few last night and had to hold onto the wall for the single leg hops because my ankle was so weak!  I’ll definitely be adding this into my routine!

And to end, here was a fun quote I saw in the same issue from Danny Pudi (actor).  So true!

  1. That’s perfect! I always say the first 20 minutes of a run, my body is struggling to get me to stop. After that? It’s all zen.

  2. I love my early sunday runs. I look forward to them all week! I can run and not make a mental checklist of all that I need to do as soon as I get home like I have to do when I run during the week.
Enjoy your run and new plan!

  3. you can do it! take it one day at a time and we will get the runs in, we just need to make time. Make an “appointment” and actually keep it
