Happy New Year! I completely missed the obligatory “New Year, New Me” blog post but that’s just not where I’m at right now anyway. I just don’t have any major goals for 2016 and I’m happy going day-by-day right now instead of trying to see any bigger than that. Really, in 2016, I’d just like to be healthier, find a job, and be happy. That’s all I ask for!
I’ve just been doing my own thing the last few weeks. I’ve been hitting the gym religiously and haven’t missed a class there for the last 3 weeks. This week, I even started adding some extra workouts too!
Typically, I am at the gym for at least an hour so I usually need that next day off for rest. I am starting to adapt and have more energy the next day so you can see I exercised yesterday, for 45 minutes (the gym is MWF). Today, my lower back was a little sore so I need to make sure I roll it out more often.
Nutrition hasn’t been so great with the holidays around. Too much sugar! Yesterday, I did my best to track my food but I was so munchy all day, I knew it would be bad, but I still tracked. My goal now is to keep tracking for at least 30 days straight, no matter what I eat. It can be hard but a little guesswork makes it less stressful.
So I am all ready with my goals for the next few weeks:
- Exercise 3 Times Per Week
- Track my Food for 30 Days
- Drink 64 Ounces of Water per day
I am trying to keep it simple right now while I get back into the swing of things so that is all I am working on. I don’t want to track my food forever but I hope that by tracking, I will be more conscious of my decisions. Maybe after the 30 days, I will add a new goal in like eating more vegetables or staying in calories. Now, I need to be off, to get my day rolling! Happy New Year!
What are your current goals?
Last year I learned that I needed to set (write down) smaller goals that would help me reach my bigger ones, so that’s what I’ve tried doing this year. I think smaller day-to-day ones make me feel better because I can cross them off a lot sooner 😉
I love checking off the small tasks too! And it helps keep the big picture in mind on a daily basis (I’m totally guilty of writing a goal down and forgetting about it a day later!).
Ugh yes I’ve been eating waaaay too much sugar too! It’s awful! I’m hoping now that I’m home and not at my parents’ house that I can try to get back on track. Good luck with your goals!
Love checking off on daily goals. Hope your week has gone well!
Those Those are great goals. And look at all the days of workouts! That’s awesome!
Ohhh, changing things up here in the appearance, I love it! I haven’t been online very often lately with the move but am back now. Yay! Catching up with you and your goals. Sounds good that you are taking things slowly. I plan on getting our food back on track after the long drive and then we want to start working out daily again once we get out of our extended stay condo. (Not much area in the mountains to run) Are you enjoying your new gym? BTW, Happy New Years!
Thanks!! I only changed 2 things but it looks so much fresher I think! Heading over to your blog now to catch up! I hope the move went well!!
