Photo Challenge Day 18

Day 18 – A picture of your biggest insecurity, and the reasons why it is the biggest

I’m a physicist.  Yep, that’s my job title.  I got my undergraduate degree in physics and mathematics and have 2 years of graduate level math classes under my belt from one of the top math departments in the country.  I have been at my current job/facility (jump around between labs when opportunities arose) for 3 years now.  Not a super long time but pretty decent.  Yet I have serious doubts of my abilities to perform math and physics sometimes.  I feel like I’ve forgotten so much from college (hasn’t everyone?).  I get worried I will forget something simple and make myself look bad at work.  But I know my stuff.  If you give me math problems to do, given enough time to “refresh my memory”, I can probably solve it if I’ve seen it before.  So basically, my biggest insecurity surrounds my abilities to perform my job, do physics and math problems, and anything related to those topics in general.  I get my work done well and efficiently yet I’m still paranoid it’s not good enough.  I just need to work on my confidence here!  (And maybe studying some of my old books to brush up!)
