Where Is My Energy?

I am not feeling my blog today!  This is copy like #4.  Ha!  Let’s just recap then…

Run2012-09-18Workout

I ran yesterday!  I really wanted to wear my new Newtons but I also really wanted to do 2 miles and I have to test them with a shorter run the first time out.  Anyway!  The run was decent.  I averaged a great pace for me at 10:50 min/mile.  I made sure to stretch a ton afterwards too since I was still sore from the race.

The ankle felt ok during the run but then felt weak and tired the rest of the day.  I called my doctor to get an MRI to see what is going on.  At least its not hurting but something still isn’t right.  Let’s just hope I’m not told to stop running immediately (or at least can they wait until after October 21st to tell me?)

Health & Nutrition

Woman_Eating_CookieI have not been eating well at all.  Its been pizza, ice cream, and fried chicken!  I’ve attributed it to a lack of time and energy.  I have been feeling very overwhelmed with everything lately, especially school work.  The weekends have been especially busy also, leading me to prefer to eat out than cook.  It would be easy to say “That’s it!  I’m cooking every meal from now until forever!” but I know that won’t happen.  I’m taking it one day at a time.

I’ve also been extremely exhausted lately.  Not only do I not want to cook but I also have been having trouble concentrating on work.  I can’t concentrate when I’m reading, simple homework problems are taking me forever, etc.  I have a suspicion that I’m not eating enough in the morning, causing me to be tired all day so that is something I’m working on.

So that is pretty much what is going on in life right now.  Lots of school work to be done between classes and research.  This weekend is going to be another whirlwind with meetings and appointments on Friday morning, friends over at night, Rugby and/or the Sweat AC expo on Saturday and who knows what on Sunday!  The next 2 free weekends I have are November 3rd and December 1st.  Ha!  How many days until winter break??

  1. Uhm…okay…are we having weird twin sympathy symptoms or something!? You just described me (besides the running *sigh*) to a “T”! Here’s hoping we find our energy again VERY soon!

  2. Sorry you’re feeling bad 🙁

Junk food doesn’t fuel/ heal a body well. I wonder if the “damage” from your longer run (which is fine…) is catching up due to the poor nutrition? Not judging, just wondering if it makes THAT big of a deal for you?

  3. Preggers??????? (I know… you wouldn’t have time for a baby right now….) The symptoms are what I felt in my first trimester. Tired, sore, lethargic, and lack of focus. Do your number here…

But, you KNOW good food makes you feel better. Start planning quick & easy meals, cook once, eat many. You know the drill… at least, boil a dozen eggs… quick and easy and tasty cold!

    1. Oh gosh I hope not! And you are right, food makes me feel better! But suddenly allergies have shown up. I think this has something to do with the tiredness too…

  4. I feel the same way about my schedule. We are trying to find a weekend to go to kansas, and it just isn’t going to happen….. but I can’t wait for our big st louis weekend!!!! I’m sorry you aren’t feeling the best, and that ankle isn’t cooperating! I hope you get some answers.
