A Wrench In The Plans

Wow what a day!  And it is just going to continue on to tomorrow!  Let’s start with the food pic and go from there.

I started off the day 1) running late and 2) learning I had neither eggs nor half & half in my refrigerator.  Its been a few weeks since I really spent time at my school apartment due to trips, storms, and doctors appointments.  Basically, my pantry is not stocked.  So, I had Chick-Fil-A for breakfast.  I wanted something that would have enough calories to fuel me but be reasonably healthy.  Meh.

Breakfast – Chicken and Egg Bagel, Hashbrowns, Coffee
Lunch – Leftover Tilapia with salsa, tomatoes, and cauliflower rice
Binge Snacks – 1 pint strawberries, packet for Planters mixed nuts, an apple.

Haha yes, I “binged” on healthy stuff.  I hate that word binge.  Mostly because I know what I’m doing at the time.  To me a binge is when you uncontrollably eat large amounts of food.  By my definition, I’ve never binged.  Anyway, I will call it stress eating today.  Moving on.  My super stressful didn’t even happen (I do my presentation for class tomorrow morning now…) but I decided to relax and eat dinner with a friend at the pub.  The stress of finishing up the presentation was enough to give me anxiety!

Dinner – Beer, Beef Stew with Garlic Bread (oops, not Paleo).

At class, I found out there was a lecture at 6PM that night.  Since I had missed the one at 11 to work on my presentation, I decided I should go to the evening one.  After the lecture, there were treats.

Snack – 1 oatmeal raisin cookie, some fruit.

Aaaand I just got home from campus about 15 minutes ago.  I officially put in a 12 hour day.  To those of you who work 12 hour shifts, I really don’t know how you do it.  I’m exhausted and still have work to finish up (was going to work on it tonight but then the seminar took over an hour and a half). 

Seriously though, considering what a crazy day I had, I am happy with how I did.  I ate my packed lunch and stress ate on healthy snacks.  For dinner, I could have gone crazy bad at the pub but settled for some comfort stew (Paleo!) and let the Beer be my treat.  I see I had more than 1 “treat” today but I skipped it yesterday.  Can I accumulate?  LoL, no I can’t but I still think today is pretty good!  Workout?  No.  Almost 5000 steps? Yes. (Hey, I’m in a boot!)

So I’m going to bed.  I’m going to do my HIIT challenge tomorrow, sometime.  Maybe in the morning, or after my presentation so I can work all morning, and after my meeting with my advisor, before driving 2 hours to head back to NJ, before going out for a birthday party.  Oy.  Sleep.
