So, I’ve been willingly kidnapped. See, the plan this week was to stay home in NJ with my wonderful hubs, enjoy our time together, and work my tail off for school research. A couple of weeks ago, my friend Ida had said something about bobsledding with her. She has been training for this very interesting sport for a while now and wanted me to come along for the ride (ha! pun!). A few weeks ago, when she mentioned me heading to Lake Placid with her to check it out, I thought she was joking. Apparently not.
So I make the arrangements (ask for permission) to stay home all week to work. Luckily I had brought all my work home with me, including my laptop. Then last night, I get a call from Ida around 9PM telling me she’s taking me to Lake Placid with her for a week. Who am I to argue?
Its been a really long day. Ida got to my place around 1:30AM, slept for an hour or so and we headed out in the car around 4AM. Right now, I’m eating the first real food I’ve had all day! It was just a whirlwind kind of day! We went down the bobsled 6 times from about the halfway point. Sorry, no pictures! But it was a total blast.
Now, I still have to do that research I promised and I’m running on about 4 hours of sleep (give or take). Now that I’m fat and happy, I think its time I stretch out my soon-to-be-very-sore back and hit the hay. I’ll attempt reading some school materials but I can barely keep my eyes open typing this! Its not likely I will last long…
