Easter in May

First off, I had a great weekend!  It was Russian Easter, hosted at my house with friends and family, and it couldn’t have gone better.  We dyed Easter eggs on Saturday so please forgive me if you see dyed eggs in my blog this week, they are fresh.  (The dye ran but they look cool!)

Sunday, my house was jam packed.  There was lots of food and family which is all I asked for!

I made some of the special cheese (called paska) and my mom made the bread (kulich).  She also made lots of Easter Eggs called pysanky to share with everyone.

It is my favorite holiday and now I can’t wait for next year!

Now, on to the health and fitness of my weekend…  I have really been eating whatever I want lately which is not going well for my waistline.  I weighed in at 165lbs on Sunday morning (before the eating festival!).  This really needs to stop.  There have been too many interferences lately – school, finals, traveling, holidays, etc.  I’m giving myself a little leeway (very little!) for the rest of the week but once all the delicious food is gone, its time to get cracking.  For now, let’s look at my 10 day goals and talk about my plan for the rest of the week:

  1. 50 Ounces of Water Daily – I’m still going to work on this one.
  2. Under 2000 Calories Daily – I’ll do my best tracking but with all of the random foods I have at home to eat, I won’t know exact numbers.
  3. 150 Fitness Minutes – This is still possible!
  4. 5 Wheat-Free Days – I have too much wheat-based food leftover for yesterday.  I’m sorry, but a broke college student can’t be too picky.
  5. 50,000 Steps – I forgot my FitBit at home!  This one is out.

Also, I wanted to make a workout plan to keep me focused:

  • Monday – C25K Week 1 Day 1
  • Tuesday – Jackie Warner DVD
  • Wednesday – C25K Week 1 Day 2
  • Thursday – Bob Harper Strength DVD
  • Friday – C25K Week 1 Day 3

Now, let’s just hope it all works out like I need it to.  I have a presentation to give today and hopefully we will get out in time for me to go for a run before dinner.  Off to prep and get some work done!  Happy Monday!
