Let’s Dance!

Good morning all!  I hope it was a fabulous weekend!  Mine was pretty good.  A lot of doing nothing really 🙂  Hung out with Rob, visited my Grandma.  My mom, sister, and I went to Zumba on Saturday night.  It was their first time ever at a class and I think they had fun though the instructor was fast and didn’t explain anything.  But the atmosphere is always addictive.  We went again on Sunday to try and different instructor.  It was just different.  She cue a lot better but still didn’t “instruct” much at all.  This place is only $3 a class though, right around the corner from my parents’ house, and has tons of evening classes.  I think we are going again next week!

On a side note, my ankle has been bothering me again.  It doesn’t hurt, it just is noticeable. Or tired.  Something.  When I jog, I can feel it sometimes but usually goes away after a few minutes or so.  I think Zumba made it a little worse so I might have to limit myself to 1 class a week.  I think side-to-side movement irritates it more.  And I totally didn’t run this weekend.  I don’t know what is with me!  I mean, my ankle was bothering me but I still went to Zumba.  I plan on doing my 6 miles tonight after work; whether I walk it or run it, it’s going to get done.  Now is not the time to skip runs nor hurt myself.

Goals
As for my health and goals this weekend, my goals were kind of ignored BUT I feel that I performed better this weekend than I have in the last few months.  I worked out twice, I didn’t eat too many “bad” things, I drank a lot of water, I tried to relax a bit too.  I call it a success.  And as of today, I’m going to give myself a clean slate for my goals chart.  That way, I don’t feel overwhelmed!  Just as a reminder, I’m going to…

emoticon Drink 8 glasses of water a day.  (6 days)
emoticon Limit my intake of non-Paleo foods (dairy & grains).    (6 days)
emoticon Work out at least 5 days a week.    (5 days)
emoticon Run at least 3 days a week.    (3 days)
emoticon Check in with accountability partners every day.    (6 days)

I think the hardest one will be the workouts.  I just have to remind myself that I basically have to work out every day to make that goal.  I am ready to finish June strong!  Let’s go!

  1. good luck with your run! And keep that ankle safe! I have no idea when I am going to run. Andrew doesnt have camp this week, so it might have to be in themorning before work again tomorrow, or on the treadmill at the gym……
    My mom absolutely LOVES zumba

  2. I may have said this before but:

of the bazillions of people I know who do a lot of Zumba, they ALL end up buying “dance” shoes (slidey is important or you’re constantly wrenching your knees and ankles). 🙂

    1. I have dance shoes. I didn’t wear them. Silly me! But I wasn’t sticking to the floor either (my knees would have let me know). Ankle is just unhappy!
