I have been slacking like crazy but slowly, my motivation has been coming back.  I have been getting more consistent about eating healthy and getting in workouts.  Slowly but surely!  Well today, I told myself I would run and that was it.  And then I started to mope about the weather and how much I had to do and I stopped and asked myself…

What Would Fit Me Do?

Fit Me would stop the whining, lace up the shoes, and get out the door.  And that is exactly what I did.  2 days in a row.  That is almost unheard of for me.  Usually, I like a rest day after a run but I cut my run short yesterday and I had advice from a close friend (certified personal training, nutritionist, and 4 time marathoner) that you can split your long run onto 2 days if it is necessary and still have similar benefits.  So since yesterday was cut short, today was a must.

So there!  Two great runs 2 days in a row.  Today was cut somewhat short because I totally ran out of steam (and it really did start to rain).    But overall, between yesterday and today, I managed a total to 10 miles!  Pretty darn good!  And I figured out that I ran out of steam a bit because I didn’t eat enough before leaving and I averaged 30 seconds faster on my pace today!  I feel great!

So the next time you are feeling a lack of motivation, just asked yourself WWFMD?  (or conversely, what would *fat* me do but I hate using that terrible word!)

Weekend Update

I had a pretty decent weekend at home!  I had a 31 party on Friday and it was a great hit!  I had lots of people and really had a good time.  Can you believe I didn’t take any pictures?  I need to get better at that!  I used to be the party picture queen.  But you know I got shots of the food (priorities)

I made guacamole that came out GREAT.  Everything was practically gone at the end of the party!  The peanut butter cookies that my friend bought were all totally gone.  They are to die for!  Even the cheese that I thought would be leftover only had a tiny bit left!  Seems silly but knowing people liked what I prepared makes me happy!  LoL! 

The next night, Rob and I had a party at Lauren’s house for an unwanted gift exchange.  We came how with boxes of tea and a cake plate.  It is always a fun time at her house, a great group of people!

Sunday was yet another party!  My mom’s birthday is on Tuesday so my Dad has all of the “kids” come over last night since I was home.  I made my mom’s cake.  She requested yellow cake with chocolate icing.  I used my new cake plate too!

We also slow cooked stew yesterday on the stove and it was wonderful.  We just threw together some carrots, potatoes, celery, and beef with some wine, water, Wondra (wheat based thickener), rosemary, and thyme.  It needed *something* though so we added onion and garlic powder.  That helped and I can’t wait to finish it off today!

So that’s it!  I have to get warm after that cold run and then work on homework for the rest of the day.  I have classes bright and early tomorrow morning!  I will drive back to school in the morning so I can have an extra night with Rob.  He is just so nice and warm to sleep next to!

    at first I didn’t understand teh “fit me” part. but now i do and what a great idea! Fit me would always get out there and more! love this
    also, ive never been to an unwanted gift exchange. does it work out well?
    anyway- happy monday!

    1. Fit Me – I figured thinking of what a fit person would do isn’t the same as thinking of yourself doing it. When you think of what a fit version of you would do, I really feel like it drives it home. Internalizes it I guess? It works for me!
      Unwanted Gift Exchange – It is SO MUCH FUN! We made out with decent stuff but some people got some interesting things like a light purple valor sweater with ruffles (a guy got this, haha), or how about a chinese wall calendar, or a 1 pound sugar daddy? Its so funny because some things you might actually like and there are others that no one wants at all!

  2. Sounds like a great time! What a fun weekend!!!
    Good for you on the running! I’m hoping to be allowed back out there next week…gonna have to work back at it slowly since I haven’t run since Dec 19th!!! Can’t wait, though!
