Healthy Holidays with Arbonne Essentials

I don’t talk about it much here but I’m an Arbonne Independent Consultant. I don’t want to go into full detail because this isn’t a post about Arbonne exactly but just know that I signed on because I love their products, the ingredients, how they are tested, etc. I just think they are great quality for all of their lines (skincare, beauty, and health products).

Making the Decision: Whole30 or Not?

I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing the Whole30 Challenge from the book It Starts With Food.  This isn’t anything new.  I originally read the book back in 2012 (there is a newer version also).  I never did the Whole30 (meaning a “whole 30 days”) after reading the book, even though I really enjoyed it and would recommend the book to others.

So I’m

What I Ate 8/26/2014

Calories: 1430 Fat: 35g (low) Carbs: 194g (high) Protein: 65g (low)

Yesterday I thought I started off okay with some leftover pizza for breakfast (topped with fresh tomatoes) but that is where it all started to go downhill.  My schedule got changed and I was exhausted so I stopped for a huge (free) Dunkin Donuts drink before heading to school.  I didn’t check the

What I Ate 8/24/14

How was the first day of the challenge?  Well, the challenge is to report everything and here it is!

So technically, that’s it right?  Well, not exactly.  Let’s take yesterday as an example of how I’ve been eating for the last few weeks.  Lots of junk.  And that repeated picture of the beer isn’t a mistake.  There were two.

On the bright side,

Nutrition Accountability Week

This week, my friend Kristen (over at Livin’ Life in Louie) and I are making each other accountable by tracking and sharing everything we eat. I have been really struggling to get moving and losing this weight. My eats haven’t been great and my fitness is very lacking so being accountable to a friend really helps. Maybe I’ll skip that dessert or the handful

Registration Happy

More news!  I go so excited with the registering for races, I also signed up for the Atlantic City 10K in October!  I have done this race series before and really enjoyed it.  Now that it has been moved back to Bally’s, I am really excited.  I heard bad things about when it was moved to Revel Casino but it was always so fun at

Get It Done: Focus T25

I’m almost done my first week of Focus T25! Wow, it went so fast! Once I finish today’s workout and do the stretch over the weekend, I write a full recap of all the DVDs. For now, let’s talk about what Focus T25 is and what my plan will be for the next 10 (9?) weeks.

Focus T25 is a BeachBody program made by Shawn

The Science Behind Food

A few months ago, I bought a copy of the September 2013 Special Food Issue of Scientific American that I was super excited to read and then I misplaced it.  Well, I just found it, and it is blowing my expectations out of the water!  The articles in here have great content and were right up my alley.  I haven’t read the whole thing but
