No More Staycation!

I got good news today: my background check has gone through its first round and I can start work on Monday! Woohoo! Sadly, my extended unpaid vacation is over but I’m actually really happy about that. While it might sound nice to have all this time at home, I get super board and don’t want to do anything. I prefer being somewhat busy and having

Finding Fitness in Errands

Good morning! This week has been well enough so far. This past weekend, Rob and I were pretty busy but no pictures. The big downside is that my allergies have kicked in. I did not go to Bullpen on Friday nor Monday. I can barely breathe and I cough a lot so the high intensity of those workouts just isn’t happening. Sadly though, I didn’t

Enjoying This Weather

It has been beautiful the last few days! Wednesday, I went to the park for a run. Yesterday, I couldn’t find a good reason to get outside really.

I did go to my eye doctor’s to pick up my new glasses. The last pair of glasses I bought over 10 years ago. It was time for a new prescription and a new style. I

Fitness Report & Philly Museum of Art

Happy mid week! This week has been especially stressful for me but I don’t feel like talking about that. How about some health and fitness updates? Last week, I killed it on the workouts!

Friday, I decided to stay home from Bullpen which was a good thing because I ended up getting an important phone call. I did my C25K run and then popped

Successful Week

This weekend ended up being busier than I expected, but I made my run happen. Rob and I were having his parents over for breakfast on Sunday so I made sure to do my third run of the week on Saturday morning. Do you know what that means? I didn’t miss a single workout this week, and I exercised 6 days in a row!

Switching 5K Training Plans

Today’s run did not go as planned. I decided to go with timed intervals instead of distance. I just picked a 2:1 ratio of running to walking and got started. It quickly became apparent that it wasn’t going well, and I needed more walking than that.

After my run, I did a little quick math and figured out my time intervals from my run on

2 Months at Bullpen

Even though I haven’t been recapping my workouts lately, I have been hitting Bullpen on a regular basis. Actually, in 8 and a half weeks, I’ve only missed 2 workouts. And I only missed those because I had someplace important to be – and I didn’t skip exercise that day! I made sure to exercise at home those days instead.

Today’s workout was tough. I

Running Slowly Again

Today officially marks the start of my new journey into running! I’ve made a training schedule for the next 7 months, all leading up to the Philadelphia Rock’N’Roll Half Marathon September 18th. The schedule is very slow and gradual but I don’t want to rush anything.

I decided to string together multiple race training plans and chose 3 plans from HalHigdon.com. I’ve been using his
